Automation

Take the admin off your fee earners.

Your case management system works. The admin around it still takes hours every week: opening matters, chasing documents, answering “where are we?” calls, drafting the same letters again. None of it is chargeable.

We build what's missing around the system you already have, at a fixed price, and your firm owns it. You see it working on screen within three working days of a free half-day review, before you've paid anything.

When we assessed a litigation firm across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, a whole phase of its roadmap was this kind of work: a client portal, website enquiries straight into case management, and reporting on caseload. Read the case study

Where the hours go.

The same details, typed three times.

A new client goes into case management, then accounts, then the engagement letter.

“Where are we with my matter?”

Clients phone for updates because they can't see progress for themselves.

Letters from an old file.

Standard documents get drafted from scratch, or from the last matter, with the last client's name still in them.

Reminders in people's heads.

Key dates and chasers live in fee earners' calendars and memories.

Numbers on a Friday.

The partners wait for someone to pull caseload and work in progress together from a spreadsheet.

None of it is chargeable. On fixed fees, every hour of it comes out of your margin. By the hour, it's time nobody pays for.

What we build.

Built around the system you already have, so your fee earners keep working where they work now.

A client portal.

Clients see where their matter stands, send documents and sign, without phoning you.

Enquiries straight into your system.

Website and email enquiries arrive in case management as new matters, ready for conflict and ID checks.

Matter opening, typed once.

Client details go in once and reach case management, accounts and the engagement letter.

Documents that draft themselves.

Standard letters and documents filled from the matter, ready for a fee earner to check.

Reminders and updates that send themselves.

Key dates, chasers and client updates, sent at the right point in the matter.

Your tools, connected.

Accounts, e-signature, document storage, and the portals and search providers your practice areas use.

Reporting the partners can trust.

Caseload, cycle time and work in progress, from live data, not a spreadsheet.

AI inside the work.

Summarising files, drafting first versions and sorting incoming post, with a fee earner checking before anything goes out.

From a half-day review to a system your firm owns.

  1. Business and technology review.

Free. Half a day with your partners and the people who do the admin. We look at where the hours go, then send you a written note with a likely price range within three working days.

  2. Prototype.

Within three working days, you see it working on screen, built around your own matters, before you've paid anything.

  3. Scoping.

£3,000 to £4,000. We refine the prototype with your fee earners and your accounts team, map every connection it needs, and fix the price. The scope is yours, whoever builds it.

  4. Build.

Fixed price. Your fee earners try working software from early on, so changes are cheap. Every build is independently penetration tested before it goes live, and we hand over only once you've accepted it.

  5. Running it.

Run it yourselves for about £3,000 a year, or have us support it, usually for £10,000 to £15,000 a year, less for smaller systems.

What it costs.

Every step has a fixed price before it starts, so your budget is predictable. No monthly retainer, no hourly billing, and no surprises.

Where AI is built in, the AI provider's usage is billed to your firm at cost. We size it with you during scoping.

If the case management system itself is the problem, that's a bigger build.

AI in the work, on your terms.

Inside the matter.

Drafting, summarising and sorting happen where the work is, not in a chat window off to the side.

Your provider, your terms.

You choose the AI provider and the contract. Client data is never used for training, and processing stays in the UK or the EU where the provider offers it.

Checking you can show.

Sign-off steps are built in, so you can show who checked what to a client, an insurer, or the SRA or your own regulator.

The policy and training to match.

If the firm needs an AI policy and training alongside the build, we do that too.

Sometimes the answer is a setting, not a build.

We build for a living, so you'd expect us to argue for a build. We'd rather tell you early when it's the wrong answer.

If your system can already do it, we'll show you where.

Most firms use a fraction of what they pay for.

If the system itself is the problem, adding to it won't fix it.

That's a different conversation.See how we replace case management systems

You work with the two founders.

Most technology companies approach legal as an opportunity. We approach it as a profession one of us came from, and an industry the other has spent thirty years building technology for.

Where your client data goes, in writing.

Fee earners are already using AI, with or without a policy. These are the commitments we make on every engagement, so your firm can show oversight, not just claim it.

Hosted in your region.

In the UK for UK firms, and in the EU for Irish and European firms. It sits in a cloud account your firm owns, or on your own servers.

Never used to train AI.

We only use AI providers whose terms rule that out, with regional processing wherever the provider offers it. We tell you in writing which provider, where it processes data, and on what terms.

Covered by contract.

A data processing agreement with us and with every provider we bring in, and a data protection impact assessment where the work needs one.

Oversight you can show.

Checking and sign-off steps are built into the work, so you can show a client, an insurer or your regulator who checked what. Governance is mapped to ISO 42001, the international standard for managing AI.

Tested and insured.

Every system we build is independently penetration tested before it goes live, and we carry professional indemnity insurance.

Nothing depends on us.

You own the code and the data from day one, and it's all documented, so any competent developer can take it over.

Asked and answered.

What does it cost?

The half-day review and the prototype are free. Scoping is £3,000 to £4,000. Builds like these usually cost £15,000 to £30,000, at a fixed price agreed before we start. Running it yourselves costs about £3,000 a year, or our support is usually £10,000 to £15,000 a year, less for smaller systems.

How long does it take?

You see a prototype within three working days of the review. The time for the build depends on what it does, and it's fixed alongside the price during scoping.

Will it work with our case management system?

Usually, yes. Most current systems can share data with something we build. Some older and hosted systems limit what they let in and out. We check this in the review, before you've paid anything, and tell you plainly if yours won't allow it.

Do we have to replace our case management system?

No. This is for firms whose system is fine. If the review shows the system is the real problem, we'll say so.

Who owns it?

Your firm does. The code and the data are yours from day one, and everything is documented, so any competent developer can take it over.

What happens to our client data?

It stays yours. It's hosted in your region, never used to train AI, covered by contract, and tested. The commitments above are the detail.

Do you work outside England and Wales?

Yes. We work with firms in the UK, Ireland and across Europe, and check the rules that apply where you practise.

See it working within three working days.

A free business and technology review is half a day with your partners and the people who do the admin. If there's one clear thing to build, you see it working on screen within three working days, before you've spent anything. If the answer is a setting in a system you already pay for, we'll say so.
